TESSEK Ltd. was founded twenty years ago as a joint-venture of two
biotechnology firms: one was SENETEK, a western company engaged
in biochemical industry, the other was TESLA VHJ, a state owned
company active in polymer separation research and production of
laboratory instruments. TESSEK Ltd. went through a complicated
privatization process during the early nineties. The company got
rid of unprofitable business activities and as a small healthy
private owned company resumed its main production program - sorbents
and columns for High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
based on patents developed mainly by the Institute of Macromolecular
Chemistry, Academy of Science of Czech Republic.
TESSEK Ltd. produces sorbents based on an inorganic matrix (silicagel,
SEPARON SGX) and an organic copolymer (copolymer of 2-hydroxyethyl
methacrylate and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, SEPARON HEMA)
respectively. The production program of TESSEK Ltd. includes sorbents
and columns for both analytical LC and large scale preparations.
These high quality products are commonly used in hospitals and
other health service centres, biochemical laboratories, research
and testing laboratories active in the field of medicine, hygiene,
pharmacy, drugs, food production and quality control, air and
water pollution monitoring, agriculture, veterinary medicine,
fermentation (e.g. wine production and beer brewing industry),
university laboratories (analytical chemistry, biochemistry etc.).
